Northern University was estalished in 2002, a private higher education institution located in Nowshera. Currently university has two campuses. The city campus is centrally located and is easily accessible through public transport. Main campus is located at Wattar Walai Ziarat Kaka Sahib Road, Nowshera. The foundation stone for the main block was laid by Mr. Khalil Ur Rehman, Governor NWFP in April 2005 The university presently has four faculties, with adequate facilities to become center of excellence in its own right.
