Naltar (Urdu: وادی نلتر)is a valley near Gilgit, almost 34 km away from Gilgit. Naltar is a forested region known for its dramatic mountain scenery. In winter people do skiing and enjoy lush green landscapes and also lake views in summer.
Ski competitions are held at Naltar ski resort.
There is also a natural lush green garden known as “Halima garden”.
Three most beautiful lakes Strangi lake, Blue lake and Bodlok lake are located in this area, at a distance of 13 kilometers from Naltar Bala.
A number of rest houses are located in the valley, established by the Government.
How to get there?
It is very challenging to reach valley. You can only get there by Jeeps, driven by local drivers.
