Bhodesar Mosque Tharparkar

Bhodesar Mosque Tharparkar is located 7km north-west of Nagarparkar and close to the foot of rocky hills which encircles the Parkar peninsula for 37 km in circumference is a small 3 domed mosque known as Bhudesar Mosque which was built by Alauddin in A.D. 1449 under the order of Muhammad Shah.

The mosque having two inscriptions is considered as one of the earliest standing mosque in Pakistan while in yester decades buried mosques in Bhanbore & Mansura also exposed by the department of Archaeology & museums during archaeological excavation.

Structure

The structure which is enclosed by compound wall with an entrance from its eastern side, having pillars and stone beams in prayer chamber is of marble stone while the remaining structure of the mosque including the boundary wall is of local dressed sandy lime stone.
