Women University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Bagh is public sector University of the state established in 2014. It provides opportunities to the female of Azad Jammu and Kashmir for Higher Education. This is the only female university of the state. It currently has Faculty of Science and Technology and Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences under which 14 departments operate.
The University at present is running 35 degree programs and aims to expand in future with initiation of new programs as per requirement of the area and market demand. The University is playing a vital role to contribute in the society and is committed to empower women through providing them quality education.
Govt. of AJ&K has allocated 2025 kanals of land at District Headquarters Bagh for construction of this university. So far, university is operating at five different locations within the radius of one kilometer.
