In 2009, the University of Loralai was a sub-campus of the University of Balochistan (UOB). A public university is located in Loralai, Balochistan. The tentative proposal of the university was approved in the ECNEC meeting held on May 2011, allocation of Rs. 1518.751 million allocated by the HEC as per PC-1. It was established in 2012 under Act No.VI of 2012, passed by the Provincial Assembly of Baluchistan on 24 September 2012. On 19 December 2014, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Khan Kakar was appointed as first Vice Chancellor of the University.
