About a half a mile down, south of Mian Ghulam Nabi’s tomb in a hollow of the hill lies the tomb of Mian Sarfaraz Khan. It is located on the eastern side of the District Police Head quarters, Hyderabad, a road leading towards Pathan Colony on the northern side, and Sarfaraz Khan tomb Incline towards the south. The door of the tomb of Main Sarfaraz Khan is towards the north. Inside, under the canopy of the Dargah, there are three graves. In the centre, lies the grave of Mian Sarfaraz Khan on the western side is buried Mahmud Khan his brother, who had also occupied the gadi for a short period and to the east of the grave of Mian Sarfaraz is the grave of his son Mir Muhammad. The land where the Dargah is located and the surrounding area was purchased by one of Main Sarfaraz wives, Bibi Jani, out of her personal savings from Mir Fateh Ali Khan Talpur through the good offices of Diwan Gidumal. She had the tomb constructed and created a Waaf-alalaulad and appointed Main Muhammad Bachal as Sajjada Nashin and Mutawalli. The graveyard was renamed Shahidan jo Mukam.
According to oral tradition Main Sarfaraz was murdered at a spot on Station Road, Hyderabad, near Lady Dufferen Hospital towards the south and opposite to Dargha Ashraf Shah. A grave made of limestone, constructed on a raised platform mark the spot where this cold-blooded murder took place. According to legend, there was a jail here during the Kalhora period where Main Muhammad Sarfaraz Khan, with other relatives, was confined and subsequently murdered in cold blood by the order of his uncle, Mian Abdul Nabi Khan Kalhora. However, there is more than one version to this tale, according to same, Mian Muhammad Sarfaraz Khan along with the others, was confined in the Pucca Qila and they were murdered there, but the head of Mian Sarfaraz Khan, who by that time had come to be regarded as a pir or saint due to the Mudah which he repeatedly recited in blessing to the Prophet (PBUH), was exhibited at this venue. His disciples then erected for him, and carried the body to Shaheedan-jo-Mukam where it was buried.
