Tirich Mir

The Tirich Mir is a chain of about eleven peaks with different routes to their summits. Rising 7,707 meters above sea level, Tirich Mir is the highest mountain located in the Hindu Kush mountain range and the highest mountain in the world outside of the Himalayas-Karakoram range. It is situated in Chitral, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It gets its name from the village Tirich where the peak is located. In 1950 it was first climbed by a Norwegian expedition which was lead by Arne Naess. the famous Norwegian philosopher, other expedition members were P. Kvern berg and H. Berg.
