Lower Kachura Lake, also known as Shangrila Lake, is a lake located in Kachura village near the city of Skardu in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. The lake is situated at surface elevation of 2,500 metres (8,200 ft) above sea level. The depth of lake is almost 70 meters. Shangrila Resort Hotel is first operational resort hotel in Skardu on bank of lake since 1983.
The seemingly earthly paradise is referred to as Shangri-La, a Tibetan-language word meaning “heaven on Earth“.
This beautiful lake attracts tourists yearly because of its crystal clear waters and spectacular views.
