Broad Peak

Broad Peak’s local name is ‘Falchan Kangri’. It is the 12th highest mountain located in the Karakorum Range, about 8 km (8,000 meter) peak, located in Concordia next to K2 and Gasherbrum peaks at the heart of the Karakoram mountain range in Northern area of Pakistan. Lieutenant T.G. Montgomerie probably saw first time this peak and other adjacent peaks and gave them temporary names K1, K2 & K3 etc, where K stands for Korakaram + a number for the peak.
