The 14th plane carrying humanitarian aid from Turkey is heading to flood-hit Pakistan, the country’s disaster management authority announced on Monday.
28 august 2022 cargo planes from Turkey and the United Arab Emirates carrying tents and food began the international rush to assist the poor nation, landing on Sunday in Islamabad carrying tents, food and other daily necessities.
According to initial government estimates, the devastation has caused $10bn in damages.
So far Pakistan has received aid from China, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, Uzbekistan, UAE and other countries. This week, the US announced it would provide $30m (£26m) of aid for flood victims.
