Eid al-Adha is celebrated on the 10th day of Dhu-al-Hijjah, the twelfth and final month of the Islamic calendar. The actual date is contingent on the sighting of the moon of Dhul Hijjah. It is the celebration of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) agreeing to sacrifice his son Ismael under Allah/God’s orders, but his son was replaced with a lamb by Allah.
