Noor Mahal

The Noor Mahal (Urdu: نور محل) also known as Palace of Light is a Pakistan Army-owned palace in Bahawalpur, Punjab, Pakistan. It was built in 1872 like an Italian chateau on neoclassical lines, at a time when modernism had set in. It belonged to the Nawabs of Bahawalpur princely state, during British Raj. The best time to visit the palace is night because night view is breathtaking. It is a great place for history seekers regarding Nawabs of Bahawalpur.

The land of Bahawalpur was part of the Hakra Civilization which is mother civilization of “Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa”; read one of the many informative paintings, maps, unique glimpses from the past and historical photographs that were neatly framed and put on display for the viewers and tourists visiting the majestic Noor Mahal.

The Noor Mahal Club (NMC) located within the Noor Mahal complex is one of the top recreational facilities in Bahawalpur. It provides a range of outdoor activities for members and guests through the Paint Ball Arena, Polo and Saddle Club, Archery and Shooting Club, and the Mini Golf Club. 

Additionally, outdoor amenities include a jogging track, an open-air amphitheater, a children’s play area and the Jaman Gali.  These can be located on the Noor Mahal complex map. 

The Noor Mahal Club also hosts the Muhammad Ali Jinnah Field Sports Club (MAJFSC) which organizes adventure sports and activities such as canoeing, shooting, treasure hunting, desert safaris, field orienteering, adventure cooking, etc.
