Anarkali Bazaar Lahore | New and Old Anarkali Bazaar

At leat 200 years old Anarkali Bazaar is named on a girl name Anarkali, a love of emperor Akber’s son Salim who would later become Emperor Jahangir. Anarkali Bazar is a major bazaar in Lahore, Punjab. Anarkali also serves as a neighbourhood and union council of Data Gunj Buksh Tehsil of Lahore. The Bazar is one of the best and budget markets of Lahore, where one could purchase from the food to shoes, garments and even books. It has the access to the old city, especially the areas like Urdu bazaar, Gawalmandi etc. In Urdu Bazar books are displayed on the footpaths and by small shops at the end of the street.
